Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most from players considering NexusPlay Pro.

Can I switch between Free and Pro at any time?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from your account settings at any time. When you cancel Pro, you retain access through the end of your billing cycle. Your game library, friends list, and saves are never lost — they migrate back to the Free tier seamlessly.

What does the Advanced Benchmarking Suite actually measure?

The Pro benchmarking suite runs in-game and system-level tests: per-frame latency graphs, GPU/CPU thermal throttling detection, VRAM usage spikes, and FPS replay recordings. Benchmarks are saved to your profile and can be compared against community averages for your hardware — for example, you can see how your RTX 4070 runs Starbound Chronicles compared to other players with the same card.

How do indie discounts work?

NexusPlay Pro members receive automatic discount codes at checkout for games from our 40+ partner indie studios, including Pixelbound Interactive, Frostline Studios, and Ember & Quill Games. Discounts range from 15% to 30% and apply to new releases, seasonal sales, and bundle packs. Codes are redeemed directly inside the NexusPlay store — no third-party sites needed.

Is there a student or family plan?

We offer a NexusPlay Pro Student plan at $4.99/month with a valid .edu email verification. Family plans (up to 5 accounts under one subscription) are available at $12.99/month — that's roughly $2.15 per person. Both plans include the full Pro feature set.

What happens to my Pro-only features if I cancel?

Your benchmark history and save files are preserved on our servers for 12 months after cancellation. If you resubscribe within that window, everything is restored instantly. After 12 months, benchmark data is archived (read-only) and can be exported as a PDF report at any time before deletion.

Does Pro work on Steam Deck and Linux?

Yes. NexusPlay Pro is fully supported on Windows 10/11, Ubuntu 22.04+, and Steam Deck (SteamOS). Cross-platform save sync works across all three. The benchmarking suite includes Proton-specific profiles for Linux and Steam Deck users.
